A Painting, Computer Woes, and Some Snaps…

Shelter Cove is one of my favorite spots in Pacifica and the location of several photos that I have posted at one time or another. I think one could never find it, unless a local pointed the way… and it overlooks a tucked away beach filled with the modest homes of a small isolated community. I just love it. This here is a little postcard I recently painted and sent to my folks.

My computer hast been undergoing a rebuild this week… It seems to take forever to update everything and get all my programs and settings back right. I’ve been putting this off for far too long and now it has caught up with me. I still have yet to get all of my actions and plugins back into Photoshop… and where are my customized brushes??? … sigh.

In lieu of photos to post, here are some snapshots from daily life :)

  1. I love all these pics…and you know I love that painting. So sorry to hear about the computer problems. Hope they get resolved soon. I owe you a note! =)

  2. Sorry to hear about the problems with the computer, I know how frustrating it can be (from past experience). Hope you get squared away soon. Great set of photos and a lovely post card.

    • I’m aaalmost squared away, but now we have to move ! I’m NOT looking forward to taking apart my office and setting it back up again. grr…thanks Ken

  3. Thanks for sharing the Shelter Cove secret with us. You are very special to even being able to go down there. When we tried once, the residents came up the hill as we were going down and chased us away . . .

    • Well, this picture is from the top where anyone can go and just look. I DID manage to go down to the beach, but only once, and only because I smiled very sweetly to a resident who was going home. He gave me permission ;)

  4. I couldn’t survive without my ‘special places’ I visit them when I’m both happy and sad and find something to fit both moods. Your little postcards have been a real treasure. I love the one in front of me. Just need to get my finger out to send you a post card from the North Pennines.

  5. Good luck with the rebuild. It’s always stressful when the computer misbehaves. I couldn’t open my LR library last week. Had a disk problem. Did a deep disk check – ran for 6 and a half hours. All good now, but I was sweating – even with a backup.

  6. Hey, these snapshots look familiar! ;-)
    The painting is beautiful.

  7. Ugh! I hear ya about PC woes….one year, we had to rebuild mine THREE times! I wish PS would make things easier when that happens! Great shots, Amber.

  8. Computer problem that’s no fun! Hope he gets better soon. ;) Love all those pics, Amber, are they were taken with an iPhone? I just got one, and I love the apps for taking pictures. It’s very creative. ;)

  9. I just want to sit on the bench and watch the sun set or rise here. The beautiful colors in the sky along the rippling water just calms the heart and soul. Nice job Amber!

  10. What a lovely..peaceful…’special’ place. And – you snapshots are simply perfect!

  11. I’m like Ryan. I’d be sitting on that bench taking in the dawn or sunset. Water and skies are toughies. Good job, Amber!

  12. pretty choice of colors for this scene

  14. May I steal this, once for a picture…”Ask questions”?
I just have this Idea in my mind and cant trow it away:-)

    • I’m sorry to respond so late but….yes of course. You can totally take the idea. Anyways, I didn’t come up with it on my own. I simply found “ask questions” on the ground ;)
