What’s Your Story?
Well… nothing too exciting. I’m a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and I live by the Pacific Ocean which gives me nice opportunities to shoot the sea when the weather permits.
I have found photography to be an emotional oulet for me that gives me great satisfaction. It is such fun to work out a scene or situation photographically, analyzing artistic composition as well as technical settings. A merge of technical skill and creativity, photography requires constant learning and practice and I enjoy setting goals for myself and working on technique. When the mood strikes I also enjoy painting, preferably watercolor, and every now and then, oil.
I am happy to have been able to use my photography commercially these last couple of years. I shoot for a variety of architectural projects, I take personal and business portraits, and I am also an image retoucher. To be honest though, I am not looking to make this passion a full-time career. It touches me deeply when people show appreciation for my work. My satisfaction comes from shooting, creating, and sharing. I hope you enjoy my blog :)

Mmmmh Im so jealous, someday im goin to switch to Nikon…but first I just have to get better, to deserve that system :-) Very nice gear u got!
Oooh you are all flattery ;) I think you love your lovely Canon!
Nice gear you have there.
I shoot with a Canon 5D MarkII and a handful of some high dollar lens, and I also use a Hasselblad Medium Format camera.
Keep up the great work.

Thanks Raven. Sounds like you got some awesome gear yourself ;)
hey, will be visiting SFO sometime soon, could we do a photshoot together, will you show me around, time permitting ?
Hi DW! How exciting you’ll be in the area. I can’t wait to see your take on the area through your lens. Unfornately I won’t be able to show you around though. My husband says he is not comfortable with me meeting for a photoshoot.
These photos are exciting. I am a night sky person, with no serious camera experience. I have Canon power shot SD1100 IS. Which you can see the results of at http://sweetcomice.wordpress.com/
I just wanted to say how beautiful yours are….because i spend a lot of time out there, 60 miles north of Seattle, in the dark.
Thanks Georgia :) I appreciate the feedback and I look forward to seeing your results. Oooh, 60 miles North of Seattle…must be beautiful there :)
So your creativity is deep rooted then huh. Well I must confess I suspected as much. Lol. And I can absolutely relate to your reasons behind loving photography with all the technicalities involved in creating that perfect shot. It’s certainly rewarding. I love it for exactly the same reasons. Keep it up Amber, as your work is certainly extremely impressive. :)
Hi Brian! Awwww thanks so much :)) And I’m so glad you enjoy it for the same reasons as me :)
Based on what and how you shoot and your equipment, we are remarkably similar. Look forward to visiting more.
So we are! Thanks M :)
Love your blog, Amber! Very beautiful, creative and so much fun!
Made it to page 24 so far and I’m determined to make it all the way to the beginning.
You are too sweet. Thanks sooo much for coming by and browsing through :)

Hi,
My name is Ben and I’m working with the Weather Channel to help spread the word about their new outdoor photography show, “From the Edge with Peter Lik.” I recently came across your website and was really impressed with your photography work and the following you’ve created.
I wanted to see if you might have any interest in doing a short posting on your blog (or twitter and facebook if you have them) about the show just to let your readers know and help spread the awareness. I’ve put some info about the show, pics, and links below just to give you some background.
If you have any questions or need more information please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Thanks for your time and let me know if you are interested as it would be so great to have your help.
Best,
Ben
The Weather Channel is launching a new reality TV show, “From the Edge with Peter Lik,” focusing on scenic outdoor photography. The show will follow Peter Lik, an Australian landscape photographer as he travels to places where weather continues to have a unique impact on the landscape. Every week, Lik will attempt to capture the essence of Mother Nature through his lens with his unique perspective, style, and skill. Throughout the thirteen episodes, Peter will photograph stunning landscapes across Hawaii, Alaska, Death Valley, Utah and other hidden gems off the map. We’ll see all his photographs and techniques along the way as he overcomes weather-related obstacles to find “the perfect shot.”
Premiere Date: March 31, 8pm, The Weather Channel, 13 episodes

I love the Weather Channel!! I apologize that your request went into my Spam folder Ben… I missed it. :(
I can see from my very short time here that you do have a flair for artistry, not just in your prints but also in the rich photography that you have added here, that and the combination of this rather warm atmosphere that you have successfully generated makes this a most wonderful Space to frequent. I will of course be taking some time to browse through your past and recently offered blogs and will make comments accordingly.
I have also taken the liberty of adding you to my Private Space and if you wish to venture inside then My Gothic Realm will have its gates slightly ajar, which doesn’t happen all that often I might add.
Just bring along some sharpened stakes and a good supply of garlic chewing gum for your journey and do watch out for the Skeletons and Ghouls as they always like a new visitor you know? lol Just kidding…
Androgoth
Thank you Androgoth, and nice to meet you. I appreciate the invite to visit your realm, leaving the gate unlocked for me. Very nice indeed. Let me first get some of that garlic chewing gun! haha… :)
